The pioneer of the PMU industry, PMU Global Chains, with over 38 years of expertise, is set to revolutionize pigment safety with a reliable and innovative pigment selection system!

NMT Group will unveil a groundbreaking new business venture in the fall of 2025: the Smart PMU Ink Recommendation System (tentative name). This system is designed to centralize the management of data related to pigments used in medical PMU procedures, including brows, lips, eyeliner, scalp, and scar treatments. From manufacturing processes to client information, this system aims to enhance safety standards across the PMU industry.

Background and Anticipated Impact

NMT Japan is a comprehensive medical PMU trading company specializing in the development, manufacturing, sales, education, and consulting of medical devices and PMU-related products. Since its establishment, the company has pursued a commitment to innovation and safety in both education and product development.

However, challenges surrounding PMU pigments persist, such as manufacturing issues and harmful substances, leaving room for significant improvement.

The introduction of the Smart PMU Ink Recommendation System will provide systematic solutions to these challenges, improving efficiency, safety, and profitability within the industry.

Current Challenges in PMU Pigment Safety

With the rising popularity of PMU, concerns regarding harmful substances in pigments have surfaced. In September 2024, the Korea Consumer Agency revealed that carcinogenic substances were detected in some pigments used in PMU procedures. Additionally, many products failed to meet labeling and certification requirements, raising concerns among consumers.

This situation highlights the urgent need for transparent and standardized pigment safety management.

Proposed Solutions for Enhanced Safety

Recognizing the absence of unified global safety standards, NMT Japan developed the Smart PMU Ink Recommendation System by aggregating data from global safety monitoring organizations. The system offers QR code access to product details, including:
•Composition
•Manufacturing process
•Distribution flow
•Client treatment data

To further support technicians and clients, the system will be updated with features like pigment selection tailored to treatment areas and procedural guides.

System Phases

Phase I
Clients will gain access to comprehensive product information, such as:
•Ingredients
•Manufacturer and location
•Production details
•Distribution and usage guidelines
•Case studies

Manufacturers can enhance brand transparency, track product usage, and gather post-treatment data, such as pigment stability and customer feedback, facilitating better aftercare.

Phase II
Future enhancements include Smart PMU Agents, enabling personalized pigment recommendations and procedural guidance tailored to each client’s treatment area.

Global Safety Standards

NMT Japan’s global safety standards are based on data from leading international safety organizations, including:
•EU: Safety Gate Rapid Alert System
•Korea: Consumer Injury Surveillance System
•USA: FDA MedWatch
•France: Rappel Conso
•Germany: Federal Institute for Risk Assessment

By collaborating with global pigment manufacturers, NMT Japan aims to ensure the provision of safe and reliable pigments, setting a new standard for the PMU industry.

Stay tuned as NMT Japan continues its journey to enhance safety and innovation in the PMU field!
